Top WordPress Website Backup Plugins
We have compiled a list of plugins that can assist you in backing up your WordPress website. We did a previous article, “The Importance of Website Backups,” which explains why you should backup your website. This article is to give you a quick link to the top WordPress backup plugins.
1. VaultPress: https://vaultpress.com/
VaultPress is a powerful backup and security plugins for WordPress by Automattic, the team behind WordPress.com.
With VaultPress, you can keep an up-to-date backup of your site with daily or real-time syncing. Plus, it conducts security scans regularly, so you can quickly identify potential threats and fix them. If malware or viruses are detected, then you can banish them with just a single click.
VaultPress is now part of Jetpack, so you’ll need to install Jetpack on your site, connect your website to WordPress.com, and select (at least) the personal plan to get started.
2. UpdraftPlus: https://updraftplus.com/?afref=154
UpdraftPlus is the most popular free WordPress backup plugin available on the internet. More than 2 million websites use it. UpdraftPlus allows you to create a complete backup of your WordPress site and store it on the cloud or download it to your computer.
The plugin supports scheduled backups as well as on-demand backups. You also have the option to choose which files you want to backup.
It can automatically upload your backups to Dropbox, Google Drive, S3, Rackspace, FTP, SFTP, email, and several other cloud storage services (see our step by step guide on how to backup & restore your WordPress site with UpdraftPlus).
Besides backing up each WordPress website, UpdraftPlus also allows you to restore backups directly from your WordPress admin panel.
UpdraftPlus also has a premium version with add-ons to migrate or clone websites, database search and replace, multisite support, and several other features. The premium version also gets you access to priority support.

3. WP DB Backup: https://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-database-backup/
WP DB Backup is straightforward, but it also isn’t a complete backup solution. It only handles database backups. You can use WP DB Backup to back up the database behind your site.
WP DB Backup does support remote backups. It can send the backed-up database to you in a couple of ways, including email.
If you choose this plugin, you’ll need to implement something else to back up your files too.
4. BackupBuddy https://ithemes.com/backupbuddy/
BackupBuddy is one of the most popular premium WordPress backup plugins used. Backup Buddy allows you to schedule your website’s backups as needed. You can even direct the backup files to any offline storage destination. The plugin also makes the process of moving your WordPress site to another domain or host simple and secure.
With WPvivid, you can backup, restore, and migrate your site – but right now, we’re going to focus on the backups. The free plugin includes features for automated backups, cloud storage support (Dropbox, Google Drive, Amazon S3, SFTP, etc.), once click restore, one-click backups, no backup size limits, and more. The plugin is also compatible with the popular MainWP site manager, so you can easily manage backups for all of your websites. And it plays nice with page builders like Elementor, SiteOrigin, and Beaver Builder.
WPvivid Pro adds even more options for incremental backups, multisite support, remote storage, advanced scheduling, user role capabilities, and more.
6. BoldGrid Backup: https://www.wpbeginner.com/refer/boldgrid-backups/
